Design and Engineering

We can provide your complete engineering solution, designing a new product from a blank sheet of paper, or work with your own existing internal resources. For many clients, we provide support for their existing resources, working with their engineering team to ensure that the product will be compliant, safe, and fit for the intended use when the design process is completed.

We recommend design reviews at significant steps in the design process to ensure that the design under development is on track to meet the applicable compliance requirements when it’s complete to avoid costly tooling changes and delays later in the process. There are two parts to our design reviews, the standards or compliance review, and the safety and hazard review:
- The standards or compliance review addresses all directly applicable standards and regulations and how we anticipate the product will perform against those requirements based on our experience and any measurements or evaluations that can be performed based on the current development level of the product.
- The safety and hazard review addresses anticipated safety-related performance of the product above and beyond applicable standards and regulations. Many products include new and unique features that the standards do not anticipate and some do not fall under any safety standard. For these products, the safety and hazard review is particularly important to ensure that the product will be safe for use by and with children. For all products, this review is important to ensure fitness for the intended use of the product and reduce liability exposure.

We can also provide help to update and improve existing products or in concept development to come up with solutions to challenging issues.

We have a manufacturing engineer who is very talented and experienced in soft goods development and prototyping that is easily translatable to production methods of sewing.
